myaliases - File sync and replication server other aliases or IPs
This file allows you to enter other hostnames, aliases or IPs for the localhost. The replication receiver or sender uses that aliases as synonymous to its own hostname or IP. If ed_receiver.log is showing errors that the local host is not recognized, that is a sign of name resolution issues. You can fix them by editing myaliases file or fixing your by DNS. But myaliases is a lot faster than the DNS.
Some users may not have access rights to change the hosts file or fix their broken DNS, therefore EDpCloud uses myaliases file to enter the list of aliases, hostnames or IPs for the localhost.
The aliases are entered one per line. The file is located under $ED_BASE_DIR/etc/myaliases for Linux, Mac and other UNIX type operating systems. The file is located under %ED_BASE_DIR%\etc\myaliases under windows.
It is critical that the sender can reach the receiver public IP and not through one of the entries in myaliases.
